The delivery of your Christmas trees is an important and serious moment, your order represents a sizable investment. For this reason, the trees should be unloaded carefully so as not to break or damage them.

Every tree should be counted when they are removed from the truck. Most trees delivered to you have

"tree identification tags" stapled to one of the bottom limbs, these tags are color coded and indicate the variety and size of the tree.

Please assign a responsible, conscientious person to the task of counting the trees as they are unloaded off of the truck. The truck driver or another representative of the seller, will keep the tally for the seller. The driver and dealer shouldcompare counts frequently for mutual accuracy. You will be furnished a bill of laden for this purpose. All pertinent information should be filled in on the count sheets before unloading commences.

Because each truck must make numerous deliveries, it is imperative that the unloading be accomplished in an

efficient manner.

DO NOT DETAIN THE TRUCK DRIVER UNNECESSARILY. We are within our rights to charge for any unnecessary delay caused by inefficiency, unpreparedness and/or split deliveries. In order to do this, the truck should be positioned for unloading adjacent to the area in which the trees are to be stored or stockpiled. If it is not possible to position the truck, the trees should be unloaded and moved to the storage area and/or put on display after the unloading has been completed.

Each person on the load should have at least two helpers on the ground stockpiling the trees as they are unloaded. These trees should be stacked in an organized manner based on size and variety in order to eliminate costly confusion and inefficiency. Trees should be unloaded at the rate of 250 to 300 per hour under ideal conditions. The delivery of your Christmas trees signifies the commencement of your Christmas tree season. A good start will contribute greatly to a good finish.
